Frequently Asked Questions
We’re committed to providing clear, supportive information so you feel confident and prepared each time your pet visits our clinic in NW Calgary. If you don’t see your question below, our team is always happy to help. Reach out anytime — we’re here for you and your pet.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We offer several convenient payment options to make veterinary care accessible. Creekside Veterinary Hospital accepts major credit cards, debit, cash, and e-transfers. Financing is also available through Petcard, a trusted Canadian veterinary financing provider.
How do I book an appointment?
You can request an appointment by phone, email, or by submitting our online appointment form. Once we receive your request, our team will contact you to confirm a date and time.
Do you accept urgent or same-day appointments?
Yes, when our schedule allows, we offer same-day appointments for urgent concerns. If you’re unsure whether your pet needs to be seen right away, call us, and we’ll help you determine the best next step.
How often should my pet have a wellness exam?
Most healthy adult pets benefit from a wellness exam once a year. Puppies, kittens, and senior pets often need more frequent checkups. During your visit, we’ll discuss the ideal schedule based on your pet’s age and health.
Do you offer dental cleanings?
Absolutely. We provide full dental services, including professional cleanings, dental X-rays, and extractions when needed. Our team uses safe anaesthesia and advanced tools to keep your pet’s mouth healthy and comfortable.
Can I tour the clinic before scheduling an appointment?
Yes — our Hospital Tour page offers a visual walkthrough of our facility. If you’d like an in-person tour, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Do you offer payment plans?
Payment is required at the time of service, but clients may apply for financing through Petcard, which allows you to spread costs over time. Our team can help you explore the application process if you’re interested.
What should I bring to my pet’s first visit?
Please bring any previous medical records, vaccination history, and a list of medications or supplements your pet is taking. If you have questions or specific concerns, feel free to note them ahead of time.
Do indoor pets still need vaccines?
Yes. Even indoor pets may still be exposed to infectious diseases. Vaccination remains an important part of preventive care for both indoor and outdoor animals.
What should I do if my pet has an emergency?
If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency during our regular hours, please call us immediately. Our business hours include weekends in order to accommodate pet emergencies, with Sundays reserved exclusively for emergency care.
For emergencies outside our hours, we recommend contacting your nearest 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital.
What is pre-anesthetic bloodwork and why is it recommended?
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork helps us evaluate organ function and ensure your pet can safely undergo anesthesia. This testing reduces risks and supports a smoother recovery.
